We got up at 5:30 am to get to the airport by 6:00am. When we got there Joe's flight had been canceled. So we went back home for 3 hours waiting for the next flight. We were glad to have the extra time together, but it made the good-bye process drag out. We were allowed to go to the gate and stayed there until his plain took off, the kids liked that. The kids know Joe will be gone for a long time, but they don't understand what 6 months feels like, actually I don't either. I'm just sad right now, but I know we will be O.K. We have a lot to look forward to and we are so blessed.

Oh those pictures made me sad to see your kids have to say goodbye to their dad. I hope the next 6 months go by quickly for you and that Joe gets back safe and sound!
